Moving into a new home is much more than just going online and looking at pictures of a property on the internet. It’s also about checking out the neighborhood.
Nothing compares to actually walking the neighborhood prior to buying or signing a lease on a home in the community. Pounding the pavement will give you a clear image as to how noisy it is, the amount of traffic in the area and what your neighbors will be like. Getting to know the locals will give you that insider scoop as to whether or not this is the type of neighborhood you want to live in.
I always tell clients, if you really want to know what a neighborhood is like, ride through it in the evenings and on the weekend, when most of the residents are at home. Monday through Friday during the daytime, most people are at work, so you won’t be able to get an accurate view of how it would be like to live there.
If you have any questions about a neighborhood you’re considering, or if you or anyone you know is thinking about buying or selling a home, give us a call. We would love to help you explore your options.
